Licensing Models#

ARGUS Enterprise is a component based solution built to be a scalable. As user license counts increase and/or integration requirements become more sophisticated, components can be added to the solution as necessary. The two licensing models Workstation and Enterprise offer different capabilities depending on the business need.

Workstation Licensing#

This provides a small entry level solution with low hardware costs. This is designed for single/small number of users and only requires the Client User Interface, a SQL Server or SQL Server Express database and a license to function. The whole solution can be deployed on a single PC. Workstation is effective for small implementations but limited in scalability as demand grows.

Info

The content of this document is focused on Enterprise scalability, as Workstation requirements are less demanding. For Workstation it should be sufficient to review: Client Specs

Enterprise Licensing#

Enterprise offers the scalability required by more demanding implementations that need to support many users and larger asset management capabilities. Scalability is enhanced by several components. Application Servers, Process Servers, and the Data Service. Enterprise utilizes ARGUS Enterprise Client that connects through the Application Service instead of directly through a SQL Server connection. The Process Servers running in the background can be scaled as required to meet business needs.
